ARD E N
Arden has a very powerful pupil voice. Pupils’ perspective, ideas and
concerns are sought out at every level from the form room to the
classroom and beyond. Pupils working together with Teachers, the
Senior Management Team and Governors have ensured that every
child’s voice is heard and respected. Their contribution has led to a
real improvement in the daily life of students at Arden. It has also
helped them to develop into caring, responsible and confident
young people. Here are their views:
Form Captains
The Form Captain’s role is a fundamental part of the pupil voice
team, one which contributes to the welfare of pupils and their
surroundings. To be a Form Captain you must be a good speaker,
good leader, confident and have the drive to make the school a
better working environment . Form Captains attend weekly
meetings with their Head of Year to discuss any issues or ideas
that their peers have put forward. The Form Captains together have
achieved many things to improve school life.
The Student Council
One of the school’s achievements has been to create and maintain
a well run Student Council. To achieve this, the representatives
themselves must go through an election process, proving capability
and confidence. As Student Councillors our role is to voice the
opinions and concerns of others and take them to the Senior
Management Team. We also give feedback about upcoming events
and plans. Not only are we the link between pupils and staff, but
we will make things happen and strive to achieve what is wanted
by others. Examples of small acts that have made a difference are:
new benches, plasma screens to display information around the
school, and decisions on new PE kits.
Arden’s Senior Students regularly consult
with, assist and advise Arden’s teachers
and management at the highest level.
