Dave Carne

Dave, who comes originally from Oxford, has worked professionally in graphic design for over 25 years. He first rose to seniority in 1989 with Swindon-based Studio 64 serving clients like Motorola and Eagle Star Insurance. It was around this time that Dave and Peter met through a shared obsessive interest in Northern Soul. Moving to London in the early 90s, David joined March Design and Marketing, a respected corporate design agency working for ICI, ICL, Coats Viyella, Brunswick PR and Letraset. However, 1994 saw a step change when David moved to Cumbria, joining Creative Marketing Solutions as the Design Partner. This successful agency counted Bibby Paper, Dunlop Enerka, Pirelli Cables, Subterra and Lunar Caravans amongst its numerous high profile clients.

After seven years with CMS, David formed Carne Whitney Partners with Peter Whitney. Carne Whitney was successful in pitching for the Subterra and Lunar accounts, combined value £90k. The first major new account won was WA Developments, operated by Andrew Tinkler and William Stobart. Following WA’s acquisition of William’s family business, legendary trucking company Eddie Stobart, this new account was added to the CWP roster. Its flotation and meteoric success as Stobart Group PLC has been a key factor in the development of Carne Whitney into a leading agency that is today also design supplier to System Training, Norbrook Pharmaceuticals, AW Jenkinson and Direct Rail Services, as well as numerous other clients.
